No. You can upload, place with Live AR, or use the 3D map right away. An account is only needed if you want to keep models permanently.
No. Everything runs in the browser. The optional app uses the same login, but is not required.
Many 3D formats (e.g. GLB, GLTF, OBJ, FBX, STL, STEP), up to about 80 MB. Other formats are converted to GLB automatically in the background.
After upload you see a QR code and a link. Both open the same model on a device with a camera — no re-upload.
Live AR works on phones, tablets, and other devices with a camera. Most reliably with Chrome on Android (ARCore). Quality depends on the browser and device AR support.
Besides Live AR, you can place your model in a photorealistic Google 3D environment at an address or place, rotate it, and save. The view is for visual orientation.
Without an account only 1 model at a time: home or leaving deletes it. With an account up to 5 models permanently for free, more via monthly plan (Pro).
It is not listed publicly. Only people with the link or QR code can open it. We use the file for 3D, Live AR, and map views.
The model is shown as close to scale as the file dimensions allow. Live AR and the 3D map help with spatial assessment and do not replace a technical survey.
